Director of Product Management and Chief Privacy Officer (2000 to 2004)
Workopolis is Canada's leading provider of Internet recruitment and job search solutions. Workopolis was a unique and complementary partnership of three Canadian media companies, The Globe and Mail division of Bell Globemedia, Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd. and Gesca Ltd., the newspaper publishing subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada. Workopolis has offices across Canada. Reporting to the President, and member of the Management Team, I managed a cross-functional team of developers, QA, web producers, business analysts and project managers. Responsible for an annual budget of about $6M. During the period from 2001 to 2004 the company revenues grew from $8M to over $20M, and staff increased from about 15 to over 50.
Responsible for:
- New software development and new products
- Hardware / software maintenance (infrastructure)
- Building and improving brand affinity and improving customer experience (brand loyalty)
- The Company's privacy compliance, policies and procedures
- Staff management
